"Baby, We're Friendly"!
Community Hospital of San Bernardino has taken special steps to create the best possible environment for successful breastfeeding, and recently received the prestigious "Baby Friendly" designation. The Baby Friendly Hospital Initiative (BFHI) is an international program of the World Health Organization (WHO) and the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF). The Initiative celebrates hospitals and birth centers that have put in place policies and practices to enable parents to make informed choices about how they feed and care for their babies.

Hospitals and birth centers that have implemented baby-friendly steps create an optimal environment for the initiation of breastfeeding. Community Hospital of San Bernardino is proud to be one of only 60 "Baby Friendly" hospitals in the United States!

Babies First Program
We're also known for our outstanding obstetrics program, called Babies First. Mothers-to-be and their families are guided through every step of prenatal care, delivery and post-delivery. A personalized orientation program ensures that questions, needs and concerns are addressed before delivery.

Families are invited to attend a Maternity Tea and Tour, which includes a complementary dinner and a visit to the labor and delivery department. This tour will take prospective parents into one of the private labor, delivery and recovery suites. Each suite is pleasantly furnished and quite comfortable. Family visiting hours are flexible, and fathers-to-be are welcome to stay overnight. Assistance with pre-admission and insurance counseling is also offered.

To attend a Maternity Tea & Tour, please call us 909.887.6333 ext. 94734.
